Shift toward higher-margin, recurring GMP manufacturing revenue as clients move from research to clinical/commercial

As clients transition from early-stage research to clinical trials and full-scale commercialisation, and the requirements for High-Quality and GMP critical starting material expand, 4basebio expects a natural acceleration in high-margin, recurring revenue

Going concern and the audit

Auditor Crowe U.K. LLP issued an unmodified opinion but identified a material uncertainty related to going concern (the only key audit matter), owing to uncertainty over the revenue forecast and, if required, the timing/quantum of an additional fund raise. Cash and cash equivalents were £17.8m at 31 December 2025; a further €7m 2Invest AG facility drawdown was received in April 2026. Directors assessed going concern for at least 12 months from approval and continue to adopt the going concern basis.

The risks it names first
  • Failure to protect intellectual property — if patents are successfully challenged or portfolio is insufficient, this could significantly impair the Group's valuation.p.12
  • Commercialisation of technology is slow or delayed, restricting revenue growth or value realisation due to competitors or alternative technologies.p.12
  • Access to funding to support strategic objectives — continued cash outflows until break-even, with forecast cash flows sensitive to timing/quantum of customer revenues and R&D/operating spend.p.13
  • US government health policy headwinds for mRNA vaccines causing softening in the infectious disease mRNA segment and deferral of customer programmes.p.13
