FY2025 in sixty seconds
year to 31 Dec 2025 · approved 18 Mar 2026 · 84 pages · Company website
Sancus Lending Group, which makes loans secured on property in the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands, grew revenue to £22.1m in the year to 31 December 2025, from £16.8m (+31.8%). Profit before tax rose to £1.2m from £130k.
The report credits a bigger loan book, with new loans up 96%, and lower borrowing costs. But day-to-day operations still lost £1.7m, a smaller loss than the year before, as running costs rose with spending on growth. The overall profit depended on a one-off gain from buying back some of its zero dividend preference shares, a type of fixed-return share.
Cash at the year end was £3.2m, while borrowings, mostly used to fund lending, rose to £186.3m. There is no dividend for 2025. Management said it entered 2026 with increasing confidence of reaching steady profitability, and revenue in the first two months of 2026 was up 30%. The auditor gave a clean opinion and the directors see no going-concern problem, though the report rates credit and interest-rate risks as high.
