FY2025 in sixty seconds
year to 30 Nov 2025 · approved 23 Apr 2026 · 95 pages · Companies House
Light Science Technologies Holdings plc makes electronics for other companies, sells lighting and sensor systems for growers, and installs fire barriers in buildings. In the year to 30 November 2025, revenue fell to £8.6m from £12.0m, and the loss after tax widened to £979k from £47k the year before.
The main reason was that the largest electronics customer, a pest-control business, phased out one of its products. Fire-barrier work also slowed because projects were held up by a backlog of approvals at the Building Safety Regulator. The growing-systems business grew, and the share of sales kept as gross profit improved, but staff and marketing costs rose.
The company ended the year with £723k in cash and £1.3m of borrowings, and paid no dividend. After the year end it raised £6.6m from shareholders, partly to buy businesses. Management expects stronger sales in the second half of the new year as a fire-barrier pipeline of about £20m starts to turn into contracts. However, the auditor flagged a material uncertainty about whether the company can keep operating. It depends on sales growth, and continued delays could breach the conditions of its loans.
CEM largest customer in pest control market bringing a product to end-of-life, driving revenue decline
CEM revenue reduced from £9.51m (2024) to £6.31m (2025) as largest pest-control customer brought a product to end-of-life
page 9Mix shift toward higher-margin PFP (51.7% GM) and AGT (43.0% GM) divisions versus lower-margin CEM
Group gross margin expanded to 33.8% (2024: 30.3%), driven by higher-margin PFP and AGT contributions
page 3Chairman: 'We're excited by the significant growth opportunity across the Group, especially within our PFP division as bottlenecks unblock and we accelerate conversion of our strong and growing pipeline.'
