Peel Hunt is a UK investment bank that advises mid-sized companies on deals and fundraising and trades shares for investors. In the year to 31 March 2026 its revenue rose to £143.5m from £91.3m. It swung from a loss before tax of £3.5m to a profit before tax of £21.1m.

The main reason was a busier year for advising on takeovers and mergers, which more than doubled revenue in its investment banking arm. Its share-trading business also grew, helped by livelier markets, and research income rose. Costs fell too: job cuts the year before trimmed fixed costs, and staff pay took a smaller share of income. The profit is still reduced by staff restructuring costs, which the company treats as one-off.

Cash at the year end was £36.9m, against borrowings of £10.0m. The board proposed a dividend of 4.9p a share, after paying none the year before. Management said it aims to build on the year and stay profitable through market ups and downs. The auditor gave a clean opinion with no doubts about the company's future. The report notes that conditions in UK stock markets remained difficult.
