FY2025 in sixty seconds
year to 31 Dec 2025 · approved 4 Mar 2026 · 78 pages · Companies House
Robinson plc, which makes plastic and paperboard packaging in the UK, Poland and Denmark, had sales of £56.2m in 2025, almost unchanged from £56.4m the year before. It made a profit before tax of £3.0m, against a loss of £3.8m in 2024.
Most of that swing comes from one-off costs in 2024, when the company paid to close a pension scheme and wrote down the value of its Danish business. Underlying trading also improved: operating profit before one-off items rose to £3.6m from £3.2m. UK sales volumes grew, helped by demand for recyclable PET bottles. Volumes fell in Poland and Denmark, where some contracts were lost.
The company ended the year with £2.7m of cash and £2.5m of borrowings. It raised no new money from shareholders and kept its dividend at 6p a share. For 2026, management expects higher sales but slightly lower underlying profit, as costs rise and rental income falls after property sales. It expects conditions in Poland and Denmark to stay tough. The auditor gave a clean opinion, and the report raises no doubt about the company's ability to keep trading.
UK Plastics volume growth, especially PET bottles
UK Plastics sales volumes increased 10%; more than 50% of growth was in PET bottles due to recyclability and EPR legislation driving switch from glass/HDPE to PET
page 9Gross margin improvement (22% vs 20% in 2024) from scale and operational efficiency in UK Plastics and improved material utilisation/reduced process waste in Denmark
Gross margins were 2% above 2024 largely as a result of additional scale and operational efficiency in UK Plastics, supported by improved material utilisation and reductions in process waste in Denmark
page 8We expect underlying operating profit for the 2026 financial year to be in line with current market expectations. We expect progress in revenue and profits in our two UK businesses due to known new customer projects, but conditions in Poland and Denmark are expected to remain challenging.
page 7Board proposes a final dividend of 3.5p per share (payable 19 June 2026, ex-div 4 June 2026, record date 5 June 2026), bringing total dividend declared for 2025 to 6.0p (2024: 6.0p). No explicit formal dividend policy statement beyond capital-management objective that the Group may adjust dividends, issue new shares or sell assets to manage its capital structure.
